To modify my response above...With the ever evolving situation, all RI employees with the capability and job function to work from home, should be working from home. For the staff whose job duties require their presence in the office building (security, buildings technicians, etc.) we are practicing social distancing. This is happening in our branch system as well. Yesterday, we made the decision to close all of our locations to customer walk-ins. This unprecedented action was necessary to protect our staff. Social distancing is difficult to practice with the general public. They are being directed to contact us through phone, e-mail, or social media channels. We have transformed the cafe into a "grab and go" area - no seating is available. All food is being prepared and served by the staff - self-service is no longer allowed at the salad, soup, pizza stations. Fortunately, we are committed to keeping the cafe open. We were fortunate to work with RI Commerce to identify and solve a supply chain issue we were experiencing (THANK YOU JOHN AND DORIS!).
