AIPSO has a similar policy where we encourage employees to stay home when they are sick. In addition we continue to remind employees of the CDC recommendations for everyday preventive actions including: 1. Avoid close contact with people who are sick. 2. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth. 3. Stay home when you are sick. 4. Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash. 5. Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe. 6. Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing. • If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Always wash hands with soap and water if hands are visibly dirty. For employees traveling on business, if they express concerns, management will consider alternate options for addressing the business needs. For any of our employees who will be travelling for leisure, we encourage the employee to research the status of the travel destination to see if there is travel health notices issued by CDC. For employees returning from countries that are designated by the CDC as Warning Level 3 or Alert Level 2, we are recommending that the employee stay out of the office for the following 14 days to follow the advice of the CDC to ensure the employee is symptom free. On the environmental side, we have stepped up our housekeeping activities, as we do at the beginning of every flu season. All door knobs, rails and handles are cleaned and sanitized each day. A day porter hits all major entrances and bathrooms during the day. Hand sanitizer stations are positioned at key locations. For our both our Home (RI) and Regional offices, we have pulled our disaster recovery plans and looked at our work from home options, but also we are looking at our recovery time objectives. Hope this helps. Joe Shields
